We were walking along just fine, Colton holding onto my one hand and walking alongside me when he went to bend over to look at a flag in the ground and lost his balance. His knees hit first, then his hands, and then his nose/mouth. Got a little bit of a cut in his mouth/lip and blood was on his lips as he cried. Luckily it was only a few inches he fell, but still, the rest of the day he was pretty whiny/cry-y, he seemed to cheer up a little bit while he got to take a bath.
I still feel bad about it. I should have caught him, but it was too fast and I'm too slow and it was too short a distance. He'll live and hopefully just be a little more diligent about his balance in his shoes. Course, it wouldn't hurt to practice a little bit more walking in his shoes.
I remember the first time James fell and we had blood :( He banged his face on the table as he went down.. Poor thing!
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad! It's all part of growing up. xxxxx
Oh, poor baby!! He's a tough kid, though. :) And how funny that a bath actually would make him feel better!
