Bumblebees and Spiders

I had that kid song in my head this morning, do you know it?

Baby Bumblebee Song
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
(Cup hands together as if holding bee)

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Ouch! It stung me!
(Shake hands as if just stung)

I'm squishing up the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
('Squish' bee between palms of hands)

I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee,
Ooh! It's yucky!
(Open up hands to look at 'mess')

I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
(Wipe hands off on shirt)

I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Now my mommy won't be mad at me!
(Hold hands up to show they are clean)

*~*~*~*~*~*

An interesting thing when I haven't heard that song in YEARS!  And it's not as if I had an interaction with a bumblebee lately, considering it's the dead of winter.

Colton loves the song Itsy Bitsy Spider, he always applauds at the end, I wonder sometimes if he applauds because I had stopped singing.  ;)

What nursery rhyme/song does your kidlet like?

we're breaking free

"G-O
D-R-A-M-A
C-L-U-B-exclaimation point!"

Yes, I did and am currently watching High School Musical.  I may also have subjected my 16 month old son to this wonderful exclusive to Disney movie.  He really didn't seem to mind, actually.  Sad to say, he didn't make it to see the thrilling conclusion of the movie, as he went to bed after we read "When the Stars Come Out"by Riki Levinson.

I hope that Colton likes musicals as he gets older, its one of my favorite things, having seen many of them on the stage myself.  I always did dream of being in the theater but must not have been very good considering that even in high school I never did get more than an extra part.

My favorite song from High School Musical 2.

Have you seen these movies? The fact that I love them... does that make me a dork?

actors with the voices we love

Colton and I were watching my favorite Disney movie this morning (The Lion King, if you didn't know), and I was kind of amazed that in the movie there are two of my favorite voice actors.  It got me thinking, I wonder who your favorite voice actors are?  Do you know of any by voice?  Do you know what they look like in "real life", and do you know what their names are?

Here are three of my favorite voice actors.  In order of favorites (of the ones I can think of from the top of my head), they all have very distinct and easily recognizable voices (at least to me).

1.)  Jeremy Irons

Oops! I mean...

2.) James Earl Jones

Oops..

Darn.  I'll get it right here...

and 3.) Mickey Rooney

Kris Kringle from Santa Claus is Coming to Town
and
Tod from The Fox and the Hound

but here's a real picture of him..

What a young spry fellow!

So?  Who's your favorite voice?

a bunch of sickies

Today Colton and I were hit (I think) with the bug that Dominic had this past week, actually, I'm pretty sure he's still suffering through the sinus problems and whatnot.  But me and Colton?  Just starting out.  Guess we have a few days to look forward to of barely being able to breath and runny noses.

:/

This morning started out okay, Colton got up pretty early (for him) at about 7 am or so, he was nice enough to be happy playing in his crib until 8am when he had had enough alone time and started yelling to be let out.  I obliged and we got breakfast started.  We splurged on cinnamon rolls and then spent some time hanging out with Daddy upstairs watching some TV.

Then came the first clue that perhaps he wasn't feeling all that well.  The nap.  Normally he doesn't go down for a nap until about 12:30-1pm.  Today he went down at almost 11:00am.  He didn't get up from his nap until almost 2.  A little unusual was what came next.  A chill little boy just laying back on the sofa with his not-feeling-well Mommy watching Toy Story 1 AND 2.  Content to just sit back and watch two movies?

A 16 month old little boy?  He can't be feeling well.  I know I'm not.  We went and got KFC for dinner because cooking was the last thing I really felt like doing tonight, and Colton went down for bed early again.  Also, another clue he's not feeling good.

Now I am going to go to bed because I'M not feeling good.  This is just a bunch of sickies in this house right now.  I guess we should have watched The Princess Bride today.  Maybe tomorrow...
